About the Artist

Distanz Monterde is a Cebu-based freelance digital artist with a wide range of interests in art and music. She began as a self-taught artist at the age of three and was strongly influenced by her late sister, Nikki Marie, a realist artist who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder (manic depression). Distanz honors and dedicates her passion for art to her late sister.A lot of her inspiration comes from anime, chibi, and online gaming. She is a versatile artist who works with various mediums, including digital, traditional, and mixed media. While vector and chibi portraits are her forte and favorites, logo design is her bread and butter.Distanz is an advocate of the concept "Art is Everywhere and Anywhere" and firmly believes that art is universal and limitless. Creating art has always been her way of expressing her feelings. She thinks everyone has the gift of art, which needs to be nurtured and developed. Interestingly, despite her talent, she pursued a different path unrelated to the arts. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Financial Management and has a knack for numbers and is also a licensed processional teacher.Overall, Distanz Dawn Valerie Monterde is a talented artist with a deep passion for art and a belief in its boundless potential.
